Matsumoto Castle (Matsumoto-Jo) originally known as Fukashi Castle.It’s the one of Japan’s premier historic castles, along with Himeji and Kumamoto. It was the center of Matsumoto Domain under the Edo Period Tokugawa shogunate. It is in the city of Matsumoto, Nagano Prefecture and can be easily reached from Tokyo by road or rail.

Day 1 you will visit Matsumoto. Matsumoto (松本) is the second largest city in Nagano Prefecture. It is most famous for Matsumotojo, one of Japan’s most beautiful original castles. The city is also a good base for trips into the Japanese Alps, e.g. to Kamikochi, Norikura or the Tateyama-Kurobe Alpine Route.

Day 1

Pick up from Hotel -> Oishi Park -> Oshino Hakkai -> Saiko Iyashi no Sato -> Dinner -> Hotel

• Oishi Park : Oishi Park on the north shore of Kawaguchiko is a park with a superb view of lake and Mt.Fuji at once. Various flowers bloom on the promenade along the lakeside according to the season.
• Oshino Hakkai : Oshino Hakkai is a tourist spots located in a small village between Lake Kawaguchiko & Lake Yamanakako. Oshino Hakkai is famous for its touristy set of eight ponds whose waters came from the snow melt from the slopes of nearby Mt Fuji. The ponds water is very clear and have interesting plant life and large fish. Moreover, visitors can also drink cool water straight from the source here.
  There is also a small open air museum called “Hannoki Bayashi shiryokan” where you can see traditional farmhouse with various farming tools, household items, samurai armor and weapons
• Saiko Iyashi no Sato : Reconstructed Japanese village where visitors can explore houses & rent traditional clothing.

Day 2

Pick up from Hotel -> Ogimachi Village -> Shirakawago -> Takayama Old Town -> Matsumoto Castle -> Gotemba Premium Outlet -> Dinner -> Hotel

• Ogimachi Village : 117 buildings and seven additional structures are included in the designation of ‘historic buildings of Ogimachi Village’ to be preserved. Amongst these are 59 Gassho-style farmhouses, mostly constructed between the end of the Edo period and the end of the Meiji period.
• Shirakawago : Sightseeing of traditional old village, culture and history.
• Takayama Old Town : Takayama retains a traditional touch like few other Japanese cities, especially in its beautifully preserved old town. It now ranks as one of the prime candidates among travelers wishing to add a rural element into their itineraries.
• Matsumoto Castle : Matsumoto Castle is one of Japan’s premier historic castles, along with Himeji and Kumamoto castles. The building is also known as the “Crow Castle” due to its black exterior. It was the seat of the Matsumoto domain.
• Gotemba Premium Outlet : Finally we will take you to do shopping in Gotemba Premium Outlet. There are lots of branded items with cheap price here such as Levis, Prada, Ralph Lauren, Casio, dll. For example Levis jeans cost just around ¥3000. You can also see Mount Fuji from here.
